While nicotine does present certain health risks, current studies have not found it to be associated with causing cancer. Instead it is the burning and inhaling of tobacco that presents most of the cancer risks associated with smoking cigarettes.
While electronic cigarettes are not smoking cessation devices, the fact that the nicotine strengths come in full, medium, light, and none, suggests an obvious benefit to those trying to wean themselves off of tobacco. Electronic cigarettes are also very popular with smokers who want to continue smoking but want to do so in places where smoking is traditionally prohibited such as bars, restaurants, the work place, or even in airports.
